Combat your January Blues with OB
January: Christmas is a distant memory, the weather is cold, grey and wet, payday couldn’t feel further away and everyone is feeling just a little bit deflated.
With lots of reminders that it is ‘Blue Monday’ next week, we’ve popped a little list of simple (and free) things you can do to help you combat your January blues.
Give yourself an extra hour in bed: A total no brainer. Staying in bed for a little more beauty sleep is going to make you feel fresher and more ready to face the day in a positive way.
Cuddle your favourite furry friend: Nothing quite beats the unconditional love you get from your favourite pet. Spend just a little more time with your pets and enjoy those soporific cuddles. If you have a pooch, grab the lead (and the poop bags) and go for an extra-long walk.
Relax and have a cup of tea (or coffee if that’s your preference): Grab a favourite mug, pop the kettle on and take a moment to sit back and really appreciate it, because really what is more comforting than a cup of warm tea? Preferably with a hobnob or digestive to dunk.
Tend to your plants or buy yourself a bunch of flowers: It’s a well-known fact that looking after your plants actually makes you feel better, with additional healing properties thrown in for good measure. Spend time lovingly watering or spraying them or if you aren’t a plant person, treat yourself to a bright bunch of flowers.
Wear something that makes you smile: If you look good, you feel good. Have fun putting together your outfit, playing with colour and prints, and embracing your individual fashion style.
Try a new recipe: treat yourself to something tasty and enjoy trying a new recipe in the process.
Have a pamper session at home: Or if you live in South West London, book in and get pampered by Skin in Motion founder Gia Mills as she treats you to one of her Mood-boosting Makeovers in our shiny new Southside store.
