Caring for marble furniture

Marble is a hard form of limestone which is thousands of years old. Due to this each piece may vary in colour and finish and no two pieces will be the same. Your marble furniture has a beautiful finish and will last for years if looked after, so follow these guidelines to keep it at its best.

Looking after marble furniture

Heat and moisture will affect marble. Keep it dry and away from extreme temperatures.

Always use a place mat or coaster to maintain and protect the natural surface and do not place hot objects in direct contact.

The marble surface is not treated. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh abrasives or household cleaners, which may damage the finish. Marble is porous and liquids can stain or etch the surface, so do not use chemicals or household cleaners.

What about spills?

Any spills should be immediately blotted with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains use a mild washing up liquid and a soft damp cloth.

1. Mix warm water and gentle washing up liquid: Don't use anything with acid or lemon juice.

2. Wipe the surface with the soapy solution.

3. Follow with a hot, wet dish cloth to remove any soapy residue.

4. Rub the surface dry and buff with a soft, absorbent towel.
